The preliminary HSBC/Markit Economics China manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index rebounded strongly in October, rising to 51.1 from final reading of 49.9 in September, the WSJ reports. The preliminary China PMI figure, also called the HSBC Flash China PMI, is based on 85 to 90 per cent of total responses to HSBC’s PMI survey each month and is issued about one week before the final PMI reading. The final PMI reading for October is due November 1.
