AIG set for $46m in bonuses

AIG, the bailed-out US insurer, will on Monday pay about $46m in bonuses to former staff of the company’s derivatives trading business, Bloomberg reports, citing a person briefed on the plans. The bonuses will be paid to about 70 people, Bloomberg said, but have been cut by a third in value. See also the Wall Street Journal, which notes that the pruned bonuses could mean more battles over previously-agreed AIG employment contracts.
