More information emerged on Tuesday about the use of recording devices in the Galleon insider-trading probe, as the WSJ reported that US federal prosecutors equipped several co-operating witnesses with recording devices to try to obtain information about targets in the Galleon case. Among them Franz Tudor, a former Galleon Group hedge-fund trader, made recordings last year of two friends and colleagues who have pleaded not guilty to insider-trading charges. It is unclear however whether the information Tudor obtained will ultimately be used in the prosecution.
