Nigeria’s decade-long drive to sell Nitel, its former telecoms monopoly, was again in disarray on Thursday as groups named in official documents as part of the consortium behind a $2.5bn bid for Nitel denied involvement. China Unicom and Minerva FZ of Dubai said they had no involvement, causing consternation in Nigerian business circles.
