Ed Whitacre, chairman and now interim CEO of General Motors, suggested on Tuesday that clashes with GM’s board over strategy led to the departure earlier this month of CEO Fritz Henderson. Whitacre also disclosed that Spyker, the Dutch sportscar maker, is the only prospective buyer of Sweden’s Saab brand. Saab will be closed at the end of December if a deal with Spyker has not been concluded by then, he said.
