Doubtless Labour MPs — who left Stephen Hester crying into his £1.2m base salary as a consequence of threatening a parliamentary vote on the bonus — will be taking the good fight to Bob Diamond of Barclays, and his likely much bigger payout, next.

Won’t they?

More to the point, who replaces Hester and takes on the task of cleaning up at RBS if he leaves? The bank’s shares were the FTSE 100′s biggest faller at pixel time.
