FT Alphaville is hiring

We are looking for a natural writer, with an interest in and aptitude for all things financial — and, crucially — with the ability to be pleasant and have a sense of humour at unspeakably early hours of the morning. (We start at 7.30am).

Enthusiasm for online journalism and/or blogging is also essential. Thick skins help, too. Our commenters can be, erm, demanding.

If you think that could be you, then get in touch.

As usual we couldn’t decide what the application process should be, so you have a choice.

Please do ONE of the following:

  • For the traditionalists — send a CV and covering letter to hiremeavlondon@gmail.com, as well as three ideas that would enhance our offering. (We are working on a site refresh and would be interested to hear any thoughts).
  • For the rest of you — send one post you think would work on FT Alphaville, and three ideas of how to improve the site, along with your contact details (including your Twitter account), to the email address above.

This position will be based in the FT’s London office on the banks of the River Thames, where you will have shared use of a Reuters terminal, a seat next to the Alphaville editor and views of the FT car park and bike shed. Other perks included a cake trolley on Thursday afternoon (Ocado supplied) and free tea and coffee (instant).

- The FT Alphaville Team

Please note: unsuccessful candidates will not be contacted.

Short-listed candidates will be required to take a short written test.
