FT Alphaville is introducing a new feature to the site, and we’re calling it Macro Live.
Similar to Markets Live, our daily discussion of share price moves and other financial news, Macro Live will also be a freewheeling real-time conversation — but will instead focus on key US economic indicators and other significant news releases that are expected to affect both the markets and the broader economy.
Hosted by FT Alphaville reporters in London and New York, each Macro Live will be timed to coincide with a major market data point — and don’t worry, we will let you know what’s happening and when at least 24 hours in advance.
The first macro live will be on Wednesday, November 3, and it will begin at 1:30pm New York time (5:30pm London time) — 45 minutes before the FOMC statement is released — and end at about 2:30pm in New York (6:30pm in London).
We look forward to your tuning in and, of course, engaging the conversation. And as this is our first attempt, your feedback and ideas after it’s over will be especially appreciated.
