Introducing: Further, further reading

We’re introducing a new daily feature — or maybe we should just say that we’re doubling up on a feature that already exists.

Just as each morning we greet you with a ‘Further reading”‘ post, starting tomorrow we’ll be ending the (US trading) day with one as well.  Just before Wall Street closes at 4pm in New York, a “Further, further reading” will be published by FT Alphaville.

We’re running an early edition on Monday to get the word out. Enjoy, and as always feel free to leave feedback (and additional links) in the comments.

- What the world will look like in 2030.

- Global industrial production has nearly stalled.

- Crises are frequently triggered in election years.

- The amazing Amazon stock bubble makes little sense.

- A POMO case study.

- “Expectations for rising consumer prices have increased faster in the U.S. than any other bond market this month.”

- The conflicted relationship between finance and academic economists.

- Why banks have resisted short sales.

- The obsessive life (and conga lines) of Pimco’s Bill Gross.

- Number of this year’s US bank failures about to surpass last year’s.

- How Sarah Palin could end up as US President.

Further, further, further reading.
