That’s Robert Stheeman of the UK Debt Management Office. And as the Wall Street Journal’s Heard on the Street column notes, the man helped Britain smoothly sell a whopping £185bn of gilts last year.
But, before we get too enthusiastic about the prospect of UK government bonds, it’s worth remembering who last year’s winner was:
Yes that’s Spyros Papanicolaou, of the ex-head of Greece’s Public Debt Management agency.
And a man who’s hit more headlines than he probably would have wished to this year.
