Jon Moulton, the outspoken veteran of the UK private equity industry, is planning to stay in the sector despite quitting Alchemy Partners, the firm he founded, after a bust-up with Dominic Slade, his chosen successor, reports the Sunday Telegraph. Moulton told the newspaper he was not retiring but just “taking one day’s holiday.” Just days after writing a letter to Alchemy’s investors explaining that he could not support Slade’s strategy, Moulton said he already has plans for a future business in the turnaround and distressed debt sectors.
