Atticus Capital, the activist hedge fund group co-chaired by banking dynasty scion Nathaniel Rothschild, is closing its flagship $3.5bn fund and group founder Timothy Barakett is stepping down as manager of the fund. Barakett told investors in a letter on Tuesday he was liquidating a “significant amount” of the fund’s holdings and would return 95% of their capital back by early October.
