Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Asia-Pacific unit has begun a recruitment drive because sentiment surrounding the bank has “turned a corner”, according to Jayanti Bajpai, BofA’s regional co-head of global corporate and investment banking. BofA plans to roll out its revamped product range and build scale in key regional markets, Bajpai said. The bullish comments are among the first from a senior bank executive since BofA took over Merrill earlier this year, and reflect optimism internally that the worst is over.
