Barclays’ wealth management division is looking for acquisitions in its drive to increase global market share after last year’s purchase of Lehman Brothers’ North American private investment management business. Tom Kalaris, chief executive of Barclays Wealth, told the FT that the unit is particularly interested in Asian expansion. He also said it is hoping to benefit from the planned $13.5bn sale of Barclays Global Investors to BlackRock, announced last Friday.
