Shareholder activism – a challenge

At Fortis, the Belgians threw shoes and sang the Marseillaise.

And at AIB yesterday, the Irish were chucking eggs.

As an aside: this was not just off the cuff, either. Yesterday’s yolky brouhahah was, in fact, per the Belfast Telegraph,  a calculated, premeditated egging:

I bought them a month ago and made sure they were really evil smelling – like the board of AIB… I have no regrets whatsoever, I should have brought a gun.

But we digress.

Today, the Guardian has a nice roundup of all such recent AGM excitement. In which – the point of this post – we’ve found a challenge – for the British.
Roger Lawson, communications director of the UK Shareholders’ Association, believes that the British are largely “too reticent” to start unleashing missiles at businessmen.

Ahem.
