Okay, okay, we mis-judged the tendency of some in the financial markets to act on information before finding out what the information actually is.
We are happy to confirm that, to our knowledge, a financial comet is not about to hit. So these words are here to replace a post formerly titled URGENT: FINANCIAL COMET ABOUT TO HIT!!!
For the record, the post referenced the fact that a piece of dingbat commentary by an American pundit, Jim Willie, had been picked up by a popular retail site, The Market Oracle, suggesting in comically excitable terms that a big bank was about to fail.
To be clear, we think this suggestion is and was laughable.
