Salaries from a bygone era

Bankers Ball has just published its first ever Wall Street salary and compensation report. Talk about bad timing.

The IB lifestyle site is fully aware of the irony though, having titled the survey results: “Figures from a Bygone era“.

The report holds such oddities as $77,388 bonuses for analysts and $165,759 for associates in 2007. That figure has already dropped 19 per cent for analysts and 8 per cent for associates in 2009, according to the survey. With growing outrage over banking compensation and the prospect of further Wall Street losses that decline seems likely to continue (except for those canny enough to sidestep them, of course).

Perhaps that’s why Bankers Ball has also provided a selection of respondents’ amusing working life quotes. Click to enlarge.
