FT Alphaville was lucky enough to bag the new Wincott online award last year. This year the judges are looking to widen their net beyond mainstream media – actively soliciting nominations from the financial and economic blogosphere. Note, however, that this is a UK-focused set of awards. And be aware of the tight deadline.
From Mr David Crook:
Entries are being invited for the annual Harold Wincott awards for outstanding financial journalism. These prestigious awards, instituted in 1970 in memory of the leading financial commentator of his generation, now include a category for online journalism, such as financial websites, blogs and online columns and features. Entries should be accompanied by six samples of the site or material which appeared during 2008, and should demonstrate innovation, impact, quality of analysis and approachability. Entries should be sent to davidmcrook@yahoo.com by 28 February.
