Confused about how $825bn $816bn $819bn might actually be spent in the US?
Well, the Washington Post have a lovely, cascading graphical breakdown of the House stimulus package, as dissected by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.
The point is to show that in the version eventually approved by the House, tax cuts represent rather less than the one-third of the overall stimulus package being claimed by the Democrats. No matter. The immediate issue now is over how Congress might reconcile the House version with the $838bn version voted through by the Senate earlier this week.
