Out with the old

Wave goodbye to Sir Fred Goodwin’s old regime.

RBS’s new chairman, Sir Phillip Hampton, has taken a very dramatic the axe to Fred the Shred’s boardroom.

Departing RBS directors

That’s Bob Scott, Jim Currie, Bill Friedrich, Bud Koch, Janis Kong, Steve Robson and Peter Sutherland, (pictured above) all out effective from today.

In their place – Joe MacHale, John MacFarlane and Art Ryan – subject to government approval, of course.

Only two of the Goodwin-era non-execs are left standing – Archie Hunter and Colin Buchanan. Of the executive directors, only finance director Guy Whittaker and Gordon Pell, who runs the bank’s retail ops, remain.

Plus ça (patsies?) change, eh?
