Statements re movements in share price
The writers confirm that FT Alphaville is in ongoing discussions with market participants to replace the FSA as market regulator.
In light of the Financial Service Authority’s palpable failure to adequately police markets, and in some cases, obey its own rules, FT Alphaville wishes to make an offer to assume full regulatory powers.
Market announcements will henceforth be made via the Neil Hume Regulatory News Service, though Pestowire will continue in its role as market-price over-egger on an ad-hoc basis.
In support of its offer, FT Alphaville notes:
- “Yahoo finance has a 15 minute delay” is not a valid excuse.
- The Daily Express and Daily Mail are not valid sources of market policy advice.
- The use of “Ask Jeeves” to find out how short selling works is an unproductive waste of time. Wikipedia is better.
- Even the FT’s IT system works faster than ringbinders.
- Mayfair is a very pleasant area of town.
