Jumping ship, Barclays edition

Version 2.

Days after Barclays Group VP Gary Hoffman departs for the Rock, another high-flyer jumps ship (to JPM Cazenove). Just across from Dow Jones:

JP Morgan Cazenove said Monday it has appointed Naguib Kheraj as Chief Executive Officer effective Oct. 6.

Kheraj recently stepped down as a senior advisor to Barclays PLC (BCS), having previously served as group finance director of Barclays.

During his ten-year career at Barclays, Kheraj also held a number of senior management and client-facing roles with Barclays Private Clients, Barclays Global Investors and Barclays Capital.

Kheraj’s career in investment banking began in 1986 at Salomon Brothers in London, where he was a director in investment banking and also served as chief financial officer, Europe. He also held a senior role at Robert Fleming before joining Barclays in 1997.

“We are delighted that Naguib has chosen to continue his distinguished career in investment banking at JPMorgan Cazenove,” David Mayhew, chairman of JPMorgan Cazenove said.

“His breadth of experience crosses capital markets, private equity and fund management and he has deep client advisory skills as well as a proven track record in running major businesses. Both we and our clients are very fortunate that he will now be leading this firm as it consolidates its position as the UK’s foremost investment bank and builds on its international franchise.”
