A call to action, this one – Lex is seeking nominations as to those chief executives who offer the worst value for money, delivering the least bang per buck.
Mervyn King ruled himself out of the race this week with a very public acknowledgement that he feels our pain: the Bank of England governor declined a £100k increase that would have taken his package close to £400,000 – which doesn’t sound excessive until you examine the rewards enjoyed by Ben Bernanke ($191,300) and Jean-Claude Trichet (€345,252).
Given the environment we expect some keen competition.
