Adair Turner, former director general of the CBI, will take over from Callum McCarthy as chairman of the Financial Services Authority in September.
Mr Turner’s 2002 tome, Just Capital, was repeatedly described as as a textbook for “The Third Way” economic path for New Labour.
He was also appointed as the government climate change ‘tsar’ earlier this year.
So plenty of synergies there then.
