- HBOS being smashed, down 50p or 9.6 per cent at 477p

- RBS down 6.9 per cent, Barclays off 6 per cent, Alliance & Leicester off 6 per cent, ICAP down 4.5 per cent and Lloyds TSB 4 per cent lower.
