Just days after its successful Southern Water bid, JPMorgan, has now emerged as one the main contenders to buy another UK utility – Norweb, on sale from United Utilities for £1.5bn. Other bidders may include Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Babcock and Brown, although it is not clear whether they too have made it through to the second round.
