Consider this an antidote to Alistair Darling. We’ve got the first raw count on how highly, or lowly, FT Alphaville readers rate the City commentariat.
Forget the end of taper relief, forget the cynical hike in the IHT threshold, the lower growth forecast, and even the promised sin tax on wealthy foreigners who love our country. The important breaking news is that Nils Pratley of the Guardian is currently leading our Click or Clunk competition.
Now, maybe they’re a bit more web-savvy round at 119 Farringdon Road. Maybe Pratley’s friends and family are quicker on a keyboard. But the Guardian man is definitely up there in front – beating Mr J Warner of the Independent by a whisker.
Next up it’s Damian Reece of the Telegraph, who suffered from a slow start but perked up over lunch. Which maybe has something to do with the profile of the average Telegraph reader.
Strangely, James Harding of the Times, despite his devastating good looks and crystal prose, is languishing in fourth place.
Come on fans of James – show your appreciation!
