CQS parts company with four traders

CQS, one of London’s largest hedge funds, is parting company with four stock traders, reports the Wall Street Journal, citing a person familiar with the matter. The stock business has over recent years underperformed other parts of CQS, which is also invested in convertible bonds, credit and Asia. The traders are Michael Ekaette, Peter Mathis, Sanjiv Mahal and Rowan Chaplin. CQS, which has about $8.6bn under management, does not plan to exit from stocks and expects to expand the business in the longer term, this person said. CQS is run and was founded by Michael Hintze, one of London’s leading philanthropists.
