Bolloré increases stake in Aegis

French entrepreneur Vincent Bolloré has increased his stake in UK advertising and marketing company Aegis Group close to the threshold at which he would have to make an offer for the company under UK takeover rules, reports the Wall Street Journal. Aegis said late Tuesday that Mr Bolloré, through holding company Financiere du Loch, had raised his holding to 29.86% from a previous 29.15%.
Mr Bolloré, who is also chair of French advertising firm Havas and its largest shareholder, began building his Aegis holding in 2005, shortly after he took control of Havas. Earlier this year his holding was diluted after Aegis issued share options.
