McColgan departure shakes Fidelity

Fidelity suffered another key departure on Tuesday when Ellyn McColgan, who was in the running to head the mutual fund giant, quit just one day after a new top executive started work at the firm. Ms McColgan is the third senior executive to leave Fidelity this year, fuelling further questions on who will succeed Ned Johnson, the 77-year-old chairman and chief executive whose family controls the company. Bob Reynolds, who was chief operating officer, and Steven Jonas, who headed the mutual fund division, have both left in recent months.
