A director’s naked midnight walkabout after a drink-fuelled dinner at its African mine has erupted into a public boardroom row at Kenmare Resources, the mid-sized Irish minerals company. Donal Kinsella, the 64-year-old deputy chairman, was this week sacked as head of the audit committee, following a complaint from Deirdre Corcoran, the company secretary and financial comptroller, who told an internal company inquiry that after a dinner at the mine to mark its opening in May, Mr Kinsella had on three occasions appeared naked at her door, eventually having to be escorted to his room by Michael Carvill, managing director. Mr Kinsella, a 20-year veteran of Kenmare, claims he was sleepwalking.
