Informa has confirmed the FT’s story on Thursday that the publishing and conferences group has received a takeover approach from Springer Science & Business Media, the academic publisher owned by private equity groups Cinven and Candover.
A brief statement from the company said discussions were at an “extremely early stage,” adding that there is no certainty that a formal offer will be made.
