We’re super sorry to spring this on you at the last minute.
But FT Alphaville is, with great reluctance, changing.
From Tuesday 7pm London time/2pm New York time, commenters on the site will be locked into a single pseudonym. That means users will no longer have the option to alternate among various different pseudonyms when commenting on our posts or on Markets Live.
This does not mean that you have to use your real name or email address as your FT Alphaville pseudonym. But it does mean that you will be confined to a single commenting identity after tonight.
FT Alphaville commenters will still be able to change their pseudonym by clicking the ‘update your profile’ link above the comment box. Doing so, however, will also change comments made after this evening to the new user name.
Please note — Comments made under masked pseudonyms before tonight are safe — they will remain in their original (dis)guises.
Apologies again for any inconvenience.
