This is quite literally a mine of information – a new online data service from the US government. Appropriately enough, it’s called and it is said to be a “priority Open Government Initiative” for the Obama administration which will continue to grow as more datasets are added.

The openness derived from will strengthen our Nation’s democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.

Stuff so far available ranges from weekly updates patent grants  to an FBI widget facility, where you can embed the 10 most Wanted interactive graphic in your own blog.
